FEAT Award
Does an adventure burn in your heart? Have you got something in mind that you’d like to do but for various reasons you haven’t jumped in to attempting that sea-to-summit (or summit-to-sea) route, that circumnavigation, first ascent, first descent, speed attempt, new route or traverse? This may be your opportunity.
The FEATTM Award celebrates an adventurous spirit by contributing to making an adventure possible. Cold, hard cash is often a limiting factor in getting an adventure off the ground. This FEAT Award may be just what you need to make that dream come true.
HOW MUCH?
A FEAT Award, of up to R10,000.00, will be awarded at the discretion of the FEAT Award committee.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
- South African citizens only
- If under 18, parental permission must be given
- Solo or team (two or more) endeavour; but note that the Award will be given to an individual only and not to a team/group/club.
YOUR ADVENTURE
- Any duration
- Any destination
- Human-powered activity i.e. no 4×4, dirt bike, jetski or similar
- No organised events or commercial / guided trips
- Original, pioneering and inspirational adventures will be favoured
- Must take place between TO Be CONFIRMED
SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR NEXT AWARD – [TO BE CONFIRMED]
AWARD SPECIFICS
- The FEAT Award application form must be completed in full and submitted on or before the submission deadline of [TO BE CONFIRMED].
- The FEAT Award will be announced at [TO Be CONFIRMED].
- The adventure must take place between [TO BE CONFIRMED].
- The FEAT Award recipient is obligated to speak of their adventure at FEAT in October 2012.
- FEAT may request additional information/details about your adventure.
- The FEAT Award recipient must inform FEAT of any changes to their adventure following submission of their application; these changes could include departure date, location, teammates, duration etc.
- The FEAT Award money will be made available one month prior to the adventure departure date.
- The FEAT Award recipient is responsible for all of their arrangements (equipment, travel, visas, food, accommodation etc); the FEAT Award only contributes to financing.
- Should the adventure not take place – for whatever reason, any money already transferred by FEAT must be refunded no more than 30-days from the submitted date of departure.
